Infirmary (Cabin 14)
Photo not available at this time.
The Infirmary was built in the 1930's as a place for housing campers who became ill or injured during their stay. It originally was a small four bed hospital with a separate room for a nurse and a bathroom. This was done because at the time it was less common to send campers home when they had medical problems. Many believed the long drive to the nearest hospital (travel between the camp and Red Lodge was by dirt road) or to take kids home was less desirable than providing medical attention at the camp. The cabin has a large airy sleeping room, a separate entry and a bathroom with sink.
